Yesterday we signed with Wirtz Beverage, making Solemn Oath their first brewery for the state of Wisconsin. We couldn't be more thrilled and excited to pave the road with the Wirtz family, Nate Phippin, and their entire team in a state with such a proud and storied brewing heritage.
But our story doesn't start here--it goes much deeper than this. Without the efforts of the people that we love from Windy City Distributing and beyond, we wouldn't be in a position to grow this way--people like Bob Collins, Wes Phillips, Jim and Jason Ebel, the staff at every single account that has poured our beer, and particularly those that have shown an overwhelming devotion to us--our business would not grow without you.
Our team on the ground in Bob Iggins, Erica Metzler, Heather Christian, Lorna Juett, Matthew "Matt" Killion, Brenden Dodt, Stephanie Scordato, Mike Poulos, Cornell Bar, Rob Kirchhoff, Jeff Braber, Bevan Dobberpuhl, Melissa Modlinski, James Miller, Travis Briggs, Matt Modica, Brandon Solarski, Matt Ladd, Chad Lynd, Andrew Tader, Eric Mellem, Mike Mauloff, Patrick Gould, and Chad "The Motherfuckin' Hitman" Wulff and the operations crew in Kevin McGillan, John Richards, Brandon Vonesh, and Blake Moore--and I'm certain we've missed a few--you have helped us establish Solemn Oath and we hope to live up to your expectations and sell beer in Wisconsin in a way that the Chicagoland beer community will be proud of.
our business would not grow without you.
Getting our beer into your hands is the single most important job we entrust to those outside our walls, but Solemn Oath also relies deeply on our artisan collaborators and friends like Michael Kiser and Jourdon Gullett, who strengthen the vitality of SOB and allow us to present our beer in a way that's completely in line with the passion we put into them. And we reserve a special place in our daily gratitude for the people and city of Naperville, who support us here at the taproom and outside our walls with their friends and family. We do not take the responsibility of representing this town lightly, and we will strive to do nothing but make you proud and bring new, eager visitors to our home base. We are a Chicagoland brewery and our primary focus is here in this oft-frozen eight-county metropolis, but Wisconsin is a foundation and extension of our home. It is a part of our roots and we can't wait to bring our beer there.
While we are still unsure as to which brands will be making the trek north, we do know that we'll be starting draft-only this spring with an extremely limited number of accounts in the Madison area and Milwaukee. We simply don't make enough beer to spread it around as much as we'd like to right now, but we plan on being able to send more before long.
So, we're coming Wisconsin. The goal we have at Solemn Oath is simple. And maybe someday you will figure out what that goal really is. We’re going to change the world, probably. Enjoy.

Sometimes at Solemn Oath we listen to rock and sometimes we listen to rap. On occasion you might hear some jazz, pop, or a splash of early punk. The important thing to realize is that we’re always lively. Always accomplishing something. Always planning for what we hope will not be your favorite new thing, or the brewery’s favorite new thing, but our favorite thing together. Never complacent and always adapting. Changing the world, probably.
