In case you missed round one in Armitage Awesomeness, our two breweries got together to do two things: celebrate the great venues for beer in one Chicago neighborhood and throw an event that reflects our best experiences hanging out with friends over beers. Craft-supporting establishments and breweries do a killer job of giving you options for single-venue events, but we wanted to pull together an itinerary for you that gives the beer event some legs and a breath of fresh air.
Thus, the Neighborhood Party. We will bounce from place to place, sometimes for a drink and sometimes for a whole meal. It's good to change shit up. It's good explore these neighborhoods. It's good to always be on the go.
Pilsen is a perfect example of what Chicago has to offer. Originally a late 19th century Czech immigrant neighborhood, it now consists of an even more diverse group including a large Hispanic population and an ever-growing base of mustachioed dudes explaining to their rockabilly girlfriends why it's best to buy original and not re-released vinyl of the proto-punk band Death's 1974 release "For the Whole World to See."
Join us. It will be dope.
(Much like the closeness of your friendship with Charles in accounting, times are more of an -ish type thing)

Simone's is fantastic. It is one of Chicago's best bars and feature's one of Chicago's best staffs. A splash of hip-hop culture, burgers, and great beer ground the up-cycled vibe to create a truly unique experience. This night there will be a featured pairing that is still TBD. It will be awesome, but much like that incredible, brilliant, gorgeous, funny, marriage-caliber babe you had a first date with back in May... it will then never call you back and vanish from existence. Kick it off with us and if you have never been here we are not kidding when we say that you have been missing the fuck out.

A relatively new spot that has come out of the gates as one of the premier destinations in Chicago for all things cool and good. Do not join us here if you do not enjoy things like properly balanced and unique beer lists, shellfish, and meeting the man or woman of your dreams. All of these things are typically on the menu, except that the shellfish will, of course, vary based on market availability. Sweet hangs and joy.

Touted as "The Original Neighborhood Bar," Harbee Liquors & Tavern has been serving up adult refreshments since the end of Reconstruction. As in the Rutherford B. Hayes administration. Join us for karaoke and chill time. We will laugh, some folks may cry, but what we can assure you that it will not be is a bad fucking time.
SOB - Snaggletooth Bandana, Hexafoos
Penrose - Desirous, P-2
For those that will still be standing at the end of this, we thank you in advance. At this point you are on your own. Remember to be responsible and safe SOPenrosers--take a cab if you're in the city and plan on staying in the city if you're from the 'burbs.
This is the second of a quarterly series Neighborhood Parties thrown collectively by the folks of SOB and Penrose Brewing Company. It's different because we're different. And we throw these events together because who are we without our friends?
