One of Chicago's obvious strengths is it's neighborhood diversity and this night is set to highlight exactly that. Each quarter we will select a different neighborhood or area of Chicagoland to highlight. We are creating an all evening affair with several stops where you can join from beginning to end or hop in anywhere along the way.
We were inspired to do it like this because this is actually how we like to hang out - hitting our favorite places for a beer or two, or a quick bite, and then on to the next spot. And while there is nothing wrong with the traditional all-night hang for an event, we wanted to stitch together an evening for you that you may not typically plan yourself. It sure beats your normal night in.
(Much like the formality of your most recent relationship, times are more of an -ish type thing)
Table, Donkey & Stick
2726 W. Armitage Avenue
While these gentlemen are not supporters of the Oxford comma, they are supporters of making insanely kickass food and providing a level of service that'll make you want to eat and drink here every goddamned day. We're starting things off with a three-course offering by Chef Scott Manley, who is probably better at what he does than you are at anything. This post will be updated once the menu has been set.

Parson's Chicken & Fish
2952 W. Armitage Avenue
Between now and the 26th we are asking all of you to hope, pray, beg, implore, ask, petition, or beseech to whatever force you believe is behind this whole life thing about not having rain on this Thursday night. This will give us all the opportunity to kick back with some fresh beats on some crushed gravel and enjoy some beers, or possibly even one of their famed Negroni Slushies. Whomever originally birthed the phrase, "This place is the shit." They were talking about Parson's. Seriously, that's a well-documented fact. Plus, if you missed Table, Donkey you can grab some grub here as well.
SOB - SOB Bottles TBD
Penrose - Desirous
3201 W Armitage Avenue
A bar focusing on gin-infused cocktails and craft beer just makes sense. Scofflaw has killer food if you missed the first two stops (have a burger), intimate fireside seating, a totally fetch bar that will no doubt be filled with babes and dudes of all styles, and Malört on tap. That last one is either a plus or a minus depending on where you exactly are in your life right now. Always approachable and always lively, Scofflaw will never disappoint you. Maybe even bring your sister's dumb boyfriend because it is totally possible that in an atmosphere this fucking cool, he might not suck.
SOB - Hexafoos
Penrose - Devoir
Go Tavern and Liquors
3219 W Armitage Avenue
This neighborhood bar fittingly closes out the prepared portion of the first-ever Neighborhood Party with SOB and Penrose. This liquor store hybrid has a vibe that is impossible to fake. Authenticity is the key with this spot. Not stuffy and totally chill with overhead tiles from a dropped ceiling that local artists and regulars can take home to create some art upon.
SOB - Butterfly Flashmob
Penrose - P-2
For those still standing we'll likely head to Marble which is just down the street. At this point you are on your own. Remember to be responsible and safe SOPenrosers.
And for fuck's sake take a cab if you're in the city and plan on staying in the city if you're from the 'burbs.
This is the first of a quarterly series Neighborhood Parties thrown collectively by the folks of SOB and Penrose Brewing Company. It's different because we're different. And we throw these events together because who are we without our friends?
