One of Adler Planetarium’s programs. The ‘Scopes in the City program brings telescopes to public places and allows people to look through the telescope at whatever is visible that day/evening.
Here are some potential things you might see in the night sky!
Telescope observing from 9:00- 10:30 pm is free and open to all (weather permitting) and no tickets or reservations are needed for telescope observing.
Adler astronomers and educators are bringing the museum—and the Universe—a little closer to you! With ‘Scopes in the City, Adler astronomers and staff lead free telescope observing programs in Chicago neighborhoods. Depending on the dates, times and locations of the ‘Scopes in the City events, attendees may be able to observe the Sun, Moon, Jupiter, Saturn, and more!
